Summer School on Materials for the Hydrogen Society Chernogolovka, Russia, July 14-18, 2010 |
The Summer School-2010 is partly meant as a primer for the International Symposium on Metal-Hydrogen Systems, MH2010, which will be held in Moscow, Russia, from July 19–23, 2010. |
The School-2010 will be hosted by the Institute of Solid State Physics RAS in Chernogolovka, one of the largest research centres of the Russian Academy of Sciences located about 50 km north-east from Moscow (see http://issp3.issp.ac.ru/engl/ ). It will start with an evening session on July 14 (Wednesday) and it will end with an excursion and relocation of the participants of MH2010 to Moscow on July 18 (Sunday). |

Relocation of the MH2010 participants to Moscow State University |
Summer School on Materials for the Hydrogen Society Chernogolovka, Russia, July 14-18, 2010 |
The deadline for the requests for participation in the summer school is extended to May 20, 2010. |
To register for both the summer school and MH2010 Symposium, please e-mail your request accompanied with a scanned copy of a signed recommendation letter from your supervisor to
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
and upload an abstract of your presentation at MH2010 via http://www.mh2010.com/. With the recommendation letter, you will be charged a reduced fee for MH2010. |
To support the students, no fee is requested for participation in the summer school. We are working on getting more funds to provide additional support for some students. The basic criteria for this additional funding will be the achievements of the student declared by his/her scientific supervisor in the recommendation letter and the living standard of the home country. |
No poster sessions are planned during the school. The participants of the school are expected to also participate in the MH2010 Symposium and to make their presentations there. We are working on finalizing the program of the school. |
For the period of July 14 to 18, we reserved rooms for 51 participants of the summer school. The rooms are all reserved at our bigger Hotel of the Research Centre, http://www.hotelchg.ru/ (regretfully, the Internet site is in Russian and most of you will only be able to view some photos). These are 12 single-rooms at 1800 RUR per night, 6 double-rooms at 2500 RUR, and 9 boxes composed of a single-room at 1000 RUR and a double-room at 1500 RUR with a shared bathroom and toilet. (During the last few months, the exchange rate has been fluctuating around 40 RUR per 1 Euro.) |
Please note that Chernogolovka is a small town with only two hotels. A delay with the registration may result in a less comfortable or/and more costly lodging. |
Those participants of the summer school who need a Russian visa, are recommended to request an Invitation Letter from the organizers of MH2010. You should e-mail your request to

and clearly explain that you are going to participate in the summer school in Chernogolovka and indicate the desirable dates of your arrival and departure from Russia. With this Invitation Letter, you will have the visa of the type required for economic lodging at the hotel or dormitory rooms of Moscow State University during the MH2010 Symposium. (Detailed instructions of how to get the Invitation Letter can be found at http://www.mh2010.com/ on page “Accommodation”.)
